How Far Is It From Warrior?

A normal ride-day drive from Warrior. Leave early enough to sign in without rushing and you will get a full day of laps out of it.

Most riders from Warrior come in via I-65 north to US-278 east. Put the address in your phone and it will take you the rest of the way.

You will find four year olds on 50s and forty five year olds on 450s in the same pits. The class list covers Mini E through Open, plus Girls, Women, Schoolboy, College Boy and the 25, 35 and 45 plus classes.

Both tracks were rebuilt and upgraded in 2022, and both get worked on between every event.

The track is watered and ripped before gates open, and it gets worked through the day on race days.

How far is McLarty MX Park from Warrior, AL?

The park is at 4015 County Highway 35 in Horton, Alabama, roughly 35 miles southwest of Warrior in a straight line. Because of the river and the lake, the road route can be noticeably longer - the map on this page shows the real driving distance and time from Warrior.

Is there a motocross track near Warrior?

McLarty MX Park is the one most Warrior riders end up at. It is a comfortable morning drive away in Horton, with two prepped sandy loam tracks and announced race and practice days.

What kind of dirt is the track?

Sandy loam - Alabama red clay mixed with our own blend of wood shavings. It holds moisture, keeps traction, and stops the track turning into a dust bowl.

What classes do you run?

Mini E and 51cc through 65, 85, Supermini, Schoolboy, Girls, Women, 250, Open, College Boy and the 25, 35 and 45 plus classes. The exact list for a given weekend depends on the series running.

Is the park open every weekend?

No. We open on announced dates only. Check the schedule page before you load up - it lists every date we have on the books along with any weather notices.

Are pit bikes allowed?

No. Pit bike riding is not permitted anywhere on the property. That rule gets enforced.
