Two Separate Tracks
Both tracks were rebuilt and upgraded in 2022, and both get worked on between every event.
Looking for somewhere to ride near Trussville? Point the truck north. McLarty MX Park has been a North Alabama riding destination for families and weekend racers for years, and the dirt is the reason people keep making the trip.

Most Southeastern tracks pick one problem: dust by noon, or hardpack by afternoon. The blend here does neither. The shavings hold water, the clay holds shape, and the track keeps its character right through the last session.
Solid day-trip territory. Plenty of riders in Jefferson County do exactly that: out in the morning, home that night.
Most riders from Trussville come in via I-59 north, then AL-75 north. Put the address in your phone and it will take you the rest of the way.
Bring the family. From most spots in the pits you can watch something like seventy percent of the track, which is exactly what a parent wants when their nine year old is out there.

The track is watered and ripped before gates open, and it gets worked through the day on race days.
The layout sits in an open field, so from most spots in the pits you can watch about 70 percent of the track. Parents love it.
Look at the schedule, then load the bike. Riders sign in at the tower when they arrive and pay at the gate - under 18 needs a parent or legal guardian signature.
The park is at 4015 County Highway 35 in Horton, Alabama, roughly 41 miles south of Trussville in a straight line. Because of the river and the lake, the road route can be noticeably longer - the map on this page shows the real driving distance and time from Trussville.
McLarty MX Park is the one most Trussville riders end up at. It is a comfortable morning drive away in Horton, with two prepped sandy loam tracks and announced race and practice days.
Sandy loam - Alabama red clay mixed with our own blend of wood shavings. It holds moisture, keeps traction, and stops the track turning into a dust bowl.
