Two Separate Tracks
Both tracks were rebuilt and upgraded in 2022, and both get worked on between every event.
Riders from Hartselle have a short list of places worth trailering to. McLarty MX Park makes it because of the dirt: sandy loam mixed our own way, so it keeps its shape through the day instead of baking into a freeway.
Straight-line distance. The map further down shows the real driving route and time from Hartselle.
Most Southeastern tracks pick one problem: dust by noon, or hardpack by afternoon. The blend here does neither. The shavings hold water, the clay holds shape, and the track keeps its character right through the last session.
This is the sweet spot. Far enough that the track is a destination, close enough that you are not burning the whole day on the road. Most Hartselle riders make it out and back the same day without thinking twice.
Most riders from Hartselle come in via AL-36 east toward Arab. Put the address in your phone and it will take you the rest of the way.
Whether you are chasing series points or just want your kid to get comfortable on dirt somewhere safer than a pasture, there is a spot here for you.

We do not run every weekend, so the schedule page is the first stop. Everything we have on the books is posted there, along with any weather calls.
The park is at 4015 County Highway 35 in Horton, Alabama, roughly 35 miles northwest of Hartselle in a straight line. Because of the river and the lake, the road route can be noticeably longer - the map on this page shows the real driving distance and time from Hartselle.
