Two Separate Tracks
Both tracks were rebuilt and upgraded in 2022, and both get worked on between every event.
McLarty MX Park sits in the little community of Horton, southeast of Madison. What you find at the end of the drive is two prepped sandy loam tracks that hold moisture instead of turning into a dust bowl by lunch.
Straight-line distance. The map further down shows the real driving route and time from Madison.
You will find four year olds on 50s and forty five year olds on 450s in the same pits. The class list covers Mini E through Open, plus Girls, Women, Schoolboy, College Boy and the 25, 35 and 45 plus classes.

The track is watered and ripped before gates open, and it gets worked through the day on race days.
The layout sits in an open field, so from most spots in the pits you can watch about 70 percent of the track. Parents love it.
Most Southeastern tracks pick one problem: dust by noon, or hardpack by afternoon. The blend here does neither. The shavings hold water, the clay holds shape, and the track keeps its character right through the last session.
This is the sweet spot. Far enough that the track is a destination, close enough that you are not burning the whole day on the road. Most Madison riders make it out and back the same day without thinking twice.
Most riders from Madison come in via I-565 east, then US-231 south. Put the address in your phone and it will take you the rest of the way.
We do not run every weekend, so the schedule page is the first stop. Everything we have on the books is posted there, along with any weather calls.
The park is at 4015 County Highway 35 in Horton, Alabama, roughly 41 miles northwest of Madison in a straight line. Because of the river and the lake, the road route can be noticeably longer - the map on this page shows the real driving distance and time from Madison.
McLarty MX Park is the one most Madison riders end up at. It is a comfortable morning drive away in Horton, with two prepped sandy loam tracks and announced race and practice days.
Sandy loam drains well, so light rain often does not stop us. If weather does force a change, we post it at the top of every page on this website and on our Facebook page.
No. There is no membership and no pre-registration. Sign in at the tower when you arrive and pay at the gate. Riders under 18 need a parent or legal guardian signature.
Sandy loam - Alabama red clay mixed with our own blend of wood shavings. It holds moisture, keeps traction, and stops the track turning into a dust bowl.
