The trip from Florence to McLarty MX Park is a longer drive. Comfortable enough that families in the Shoals make it for a single practice day and still get home for supper.

The track is watered and ripped before gates open, and it gets worked through the day on race days.
The layout sits in an open field, so from most spots in the pits you can watch about 70 percent of the track. Parents love it.
Most Southeastern tracks pick one problem: dust by noon, or hardpack by afternoon. The blend here does neither. The shavings hold water, the clay holds shape, and the track keeps its character right through the last session.
From Florence this is a genuine haul, so it is worth making a weekend of it. Camping is welcome at the park, and there are hotels fifteen to twenty five minutes away in Albertville and Guntersville.
Most riders from Florence come in via US-72 east, then south. Put the address in your phone and it will take you the rest of the way.

The park is at 4015 County Highway 35 in Horton, Alabama, roughly 84 miles northwest of Florence in a straight line. Because of the river and the lake, the road route can be noticeably longer - the map on this page shows the real driving distance and time from Florence.
McLarty MX Park is the one most Florence riders end up at. It is a couple of hours on the road away in Horton, with two prepped sandy loam tracks and announced race and practice days.

No. Pit bike riding is not permitted anywhere on the property. That rule gets enforced.
