What To Bring To A Motocross Practice Day

A practice day is a long day. This is the list that keeps it from being cut short by something you could have thrown in the truck.

The Non-Negotiables

  • Helmet, boots and full gear. Every lap, every session, no exceptions.
  • Goggles, and more tear-offs or a spare lens than you think you need.
  • Cash or a card for the gate.
  • A parent or legal guardian, in person, for any rider under 18.

For The Bike

  • Fuel. There is no pump at the track.
  • Basic tools, spare levers and a tube if you run tubes.
  • Chain lube and a rag.
  • Tyre gauge. The surface here has real grip, so pressures actually matter.
  • A stand.

For The Day

Gates open in the morning and a practice day runs on. Shade is limited out here, so a canopy earns its place in the truck more than almost anything else on this list. Bring more water than you think you need, and a chair for anybody who came to watch rather than ride.

  • Canopy or an easy-up.
  • Water and food. Plenty of both.
  • Chairs.
  • Sun cream, and a jacket if it is early in the season.
  • Bin bags. Take your rubbish home with you.

If You Are Staying Over

Camping at the park is welcome and plenty of people come in the night before rather than driving at daybreak. Front row RV spots with power and water hookups can be reserved by text. There are no ground fires anywhere on the property, so bring a stove rather than planning on a fire pit.

If camping is not for you, there are rooms fifteen to twenty five minutes away in Albertville and Guntersville.
